A quick and easy sheet pan recipe for cooking hot dogs and burgers together, perfect for casual parties and gatherings with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
  • 8 hot dogs (beef, pork, or your preferred type)
  • 8 hot dog buns and 8 burger buns (choose brioche or classic soft buns)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)
  • Diced onions (red or white)
  • Pickle slices
  • Tomato slices
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise
  • Optional: Jalapeños, sauerkraut, or sliced avocado
  • Frozen French fries or homemade potato wedges
  • Coleslaw or fresh salad (e.g., Lebanese fattoush salad)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently and form 8 evenly sized patties about 4 inches wide and ½ inch thick. Set aside.
  3. Place the hot dogs in a single layer on one side of a large rimmed sheet pan, leaving space for the patties.
  4. Arrange the burger patties on the other half of the pan with space between each for even cooking.
  5. Cook in the oven for 12-15 minutes, flipping the burgers halfway through (around 6-7 minutes). Use a meat thermometer to ensure burgers reach 160°F (71°C).
  6. During the last 3-4 minutes, place hot dog and burger buns on a wire rack over the sheet pan or on a separate pan inside the oven to toast.
  7. Remove everything from the oven and let the burgers rest for a few minutes.
  8. Prepare toppings and condiments while the meat rests.
  9. Set up a buffet-style party setup with burgers, hot dogs, buns, and toppings for guests to assemble their own.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the sheet pan to ensure even cooking. Flip burgers only once to keep them tender. Toast buns on a wire rack to avoid sogginess. Adjust cooking time based on your oven’s heat. Rest burgers after cooking to keep them juicy.
