A quick and easy festive charcuterie board featuring a patriotic mix of cheeses, meats, fresh fruits, and crunchy elements, perfect for Fourth of July entertaining.

Ingredients

  • Sharp white cheddar, sliced
  • Fresh mozzarella balls
  • Blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • Prosciutto slices
  • Spicy soppressata or pepperoni
  • Salami rounds
  • Strawberries, halved
  • Blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Cucumber slices
  • Red bell pepper strips
  • Artisan crackers (plain and herbed)
  • Breadsticks or baguette slices, toasted
  • Herb-spiced mixed nuts (almonds, cashews)
  • Honey, for drizzling
  • Fresh basil and mint leaves
  • Olives (mixed green and black)
  • Pickled vegetables (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and dry all fresh fruits and vegetables thoroughly (about 10 minutes). Halve strawberries and cherry tomatoes; slice cucumbers and peppers thinly.
  2. Slice cheddar into thin slices or cubes, leave mozzarella balls whole, and crumble blue cheese if using (around 10 minutes). Arrange meats in gentle folds or rolled shapes.
  3. Place small bowls or ramekins at the corners or center for olives, nuts, and dips. Spread crackers and breadsticks evenly around the board edges to frame the display (5 minutes).
  4. Place red strawberries, blueberries, and cherry tomatoes in clusters to create color blocks reminiscent of the flag (about 5 minutes). Scatter cucumber and pepper slices throughout.
  5. Fill in gaps between fruits and bowls with sliced cheeses and rolled meats, balancing colors and shapes for visual appeal (10 minutes).
  6. Sprinkle herb-spiced nuts across the board, drizzle honey over cheese or fruit clusters, and tuck in fresh basil or mint leaves for fragrance and festive pop (5 minutes).
  7. Step back and adjust clusters or bowls to ensure a good mix of colors, textures, and flavors without overcrowding.

Notes

Bring cheeses to room temperature before serving for best flavor. Assemble 30-45 minutes before guests arrive and cover loosely with plastic wrap if prepping ahead. For gluten-free, use almond flour crackers or vegetable chips. For vegan/dairy-free, use plant-based cheeses and meats.
