A colorful, layered lemonade drink that’s fun for kids and perfect for summer. This easy recipe combines fresh lemon juice with various fruit juices to create a refreshing and visually appealing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large fresh lemons, juiced (about 1 cup / 240 ml lemon juice)
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 6 cups (1.4 liters) cold water
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) grenadine syrup
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) orange juice
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) green apple juice
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) blueberry juice or blueberry syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Colorful straws or fun cups (for presentation)

Instructions

  1. Juice the lemons until you have about 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh lemon juice.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice with 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely. Warm a small amount of water if needed to dissolve sugar faster, then add cold water.
  3. Pour in 6 cups (1.4 liters) of cold water to the lemon-sugar mixture. Stir gently to combine. Adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or water if desired.
  4. Chill all the fruit juices in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to help with layering.
  5. Pour about 1/4 cup (60 ml) of grenadine syrup into the bottom of each glass.
  6. Slowly and carefully add orange juice over the back of a spoon to create the next layer without mixing.
  7. Repeat layering with pineapple juice, green apple juice, and finally blueberry juice, each about 1/4 to 1/2 cup (60-120 ml) depending on glass size.
  8. Gently pour the prepared lemonade base on top, again using the back of a spoon to avoid mixing.
  9. Add a few ice cubes to keep the drink chilled.
  10. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or a colorful straw for extra fun.
  11. Serve immediately for best layered effect. Stir before drinking if desired.

Notes

Chill all juices and glasses before layering for best separation. Pour juices slowly over the back of a spoon to prevent mixing. Use juices with different sugar densities to maintain layers. If layers blend, the flavor is still delicious. Prepare extra lemonade base for refills. Substitute grenadine with pomegranate juice or raspberry syrup if desired. Use natural fruit juices without added sugars or preservatives for best flavor and health benefits.
