A simple and delicious homemade gummy bear recipe that combines natural fruit juice, gelatin, and Himalayan pink salt to provide a refreshing hydration boost without artificial additives or excess sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) fruit juice (freshly squeezed or 100% juice, e.g., tart cherry or orange juice)
  • 3 tablespoons (30 g) grass-fed gelatin
  • 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
  • 12 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) filtered water

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/2 cup (120 ml) of filtered water into a small mixing bowl. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons (30 g) of gelatin evenly over the surface. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it absorbs the water and swells into a thick gel.
  2. In a small saucepan, pour 1 cup (240 ml) of fruit juice. Heat gently over low heat until warm but not boiling (about 120°F or 49°C). Remove from heat.
  3. Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm juice. Stir continuously with a whisk or spoon until completely dissolved (about 2-3 minutes). Avoid overheating.
  4. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of raw honey or maple syrup (optional) and 1/4 teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt until evenly combined.
  5. Carefully spoon or pour the mixture into silicone gummy bear molds quickly before the gelatin starts to set.
  6. Place molds in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until firm and springy.
  7. Gently pop the gummies out of the molds and transfer to an airtight container. Keep refrigerated for up to 1 week.

Notes

Bloom gelatin properly to avoid lumps and ensure the right texture. Warm juice gently to preserve gelatin’s setting power. Work quickly when pouring into molds as gelatin sets fast. Store gummies refrigerated in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to one month. For vegan option, substitute gelatin with agar-agar powder but expect a different texture. Use tart juices like cherry or pomegranate for best flavor balance. If gummies get sticky, dust with cornstarch or arrowroot before storing.
