A quick and easy recipe for juicy, crispy pork chops coated in a savory garlic parmesan crust, cooked to perfection in the air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops, bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano preferred)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (Japanese-style preferred)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil spray or melted butter, for coating
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to remove moisture. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper. (About 5 minutes)
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to blend flavors.
  3. Lightly spray or brush the pork chops with olive oil or melted butter on both sides. Press each chop firmly into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring an even and thick coating. (About 5 minutes)
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it run empty for about 3 minutes.
  5. Arrange the coated chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  6. Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes after cooking to lock in the juices.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top before serving.

Notes

Patting the pork chops dry before coating helps the crust stick and become crispy. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to prevent soggy spots. Use a meat thermometer to ensure pork is cooked to 145°F for juiciness. Rest chops after cooking to lock in juices. For a richer garlic flavor, mix garlic-infused olive oil with the coating. To reheat, use the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes to maintain crispiness.
