A creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip made effortlessly in a slow cooker, perfect for parties and gatherings. This dip blends tender shredded chicken with cream cheese, buffalo sauce, and cheeses for a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, shredded
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) buffalo wing sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) ranch dressing
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. You can use raw or pre-cooked shredded chicken, but raw will absorb flavors better during cooking.
  2. Cut the softened cream cheese into chunks and scatter it over the chicken.
  3. Add the buffalo wing sauce and ranch dressing evenly over the cream cheese and chicken.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper on top for balanced flavor.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 2.5 to 3 hours, or on high for about 1.5 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender enough to shred easily.
  6. Using two forks, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker. Stir well to combine all ingredients into a creamy, spicy dip.
  7. Stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted and fully incorporated. If the dip feels too thick, add a splash of milk or extra ranch to loosen it up.
  8. Let it cook uncovered for another 10-15 minutes on low to melt the cheese fully and thicken the dip slightly.
  9. Serve warm, either straight from the slow cooker or transferred to a serving dish, with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or carrot slices.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese to avoid lumps. Cooking on low heat keeps chicken juicy. Adjust buffalo sauce amount to control heat level. A slow cooker liner makes cleanup easier. Can be baked in oven at 350°F for 25-30 minutes if no slow cooker is available.
