A quick and easy peach iced tea recipe that blends ripe peaches with black tea and honey for a refreshing summer drink perfect for gatherings and everyday enjoyment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 2 large fresh ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 23 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups (1 liter) boiling water
  • 4 cups (1 liter) cold water
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups (1 liter) of fresh water to a rolling boil (about 5 minutes).
  2. Place 4 black tea bags into the boiling water. Remove from heat and steep for 5-7 minutes depending on desired strength. Avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness.
  3. While the tea steeps, peel, pit, and slice 2 large ripe peaches. Set aside a few thin slices for garnish if desired.
  4. Transfer the sliced peaches to a bowl or the tea pitcher. Lightly muddle them with the back of a spoon to release juices without mashing completely.
  5. Remove tea bags from the steeped tea and pour the hot tea over the muddled peaches in the pitcher. Stir in 2-3 tablespoons honey or chosen sweetener while the tea is still warm to dissolve fully.
  6. Stir in 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice to brighten and balance flavors.
  7. Add 4 cups (1 liter) cold water to dilute and cool the tea. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally 2-3 hours, to let flavors meld.
  8. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with reserved peach slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

If you prefer a smoother tea, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve before chilling. Use gentle muddling to avoid bitter skin oils. For caffeine-free versions, substitute black tea with rooibos or peach-flavored green tea. Adjust sweetness gradually to taste. Chilling for 2-3 hours enhances flavor infusion. Can be made ahead and chilled overnight.
