A festive and easy-to-make appetizer featuring sharp cheddar cheese, crunchy pecans, and a tangy apricot preserve glaze, perfect for holiday gatherings and potlucks.

  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves
  • Crackers or veggie sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 8 oz of softened cream cheese, and 1/2 cup of mayonnaise. Use a hand or stand mixer to blend until smooth.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional). Mix again until fully incorporated.
  3. Gently fold in 1 cup of chopped pecans, leaving some aside for garnishing later.
  4. Lay a large piece of cling wrap on your counter and scoop the cheese mixture onto the center. Using your hands, shape the mixture into a ring, leaving a hole in the middle (like a wreath). Wrap the cling wrap around the ring and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (or overnight).
  5. Once chilled, remove the cling wrap and place the cheese ring onto your serving platter. If needed, reshape the ring slightly for a more polished look.
  6. Spread 1/4 cup of apricot preserves evenly over the top of the cheese ring. Sprinkle the remaining chopped pecans on top for a beautiful finish.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite crackers, veggie sticks, or apple slices for dipping.
