A quick and flavorful one-pan recipe featuring tender ground turkey in a sticky-sweet honey garlic sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add 1 pound of ground turkey to the skillet and break it apart into small pieces using a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
  3. While the turkey is cooking, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  4. Once the turkey is cooked, drain any excess liquid from the skillet if needed.
  5. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the turkey and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  6. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes for a touch of heat, if desired, and stir well.
  7. Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve hot over steamed rice, noodles, or in lettuce wraps.

Notes

[‘Use tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free version.’, ‘Maple syrup can be used as a substitute for honey.’, ‘Ground chicken can be used instead of turkey.’, ‘If the sauce isn’t thickening, mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water and stir it into the skillet.’]
