A fusion of crispy garlic bread and gooey grilled cheese, this recipe is the ultimate comfort food perfect for lunch, dinner, or a midnight snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Thick slices of crusty bread (sourdough, Italian, or French bread)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 12 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Sharp cheddar cheese
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil for the pan

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped parsley until well combined.
  2. Cut bread into thick slices, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Spread garlic butter generously on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On the unbuttered side of two slices, add shredded mozzarella and sharp cheddar cheese. Sprinkle grated Parmesan on top.
  5. Place the unbuttered sides of the bread slices together to create a sandwich with cheese in the middle.
  6. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and drizzle olive oil to prevent sticking.
  7. Place the sandwich in the skillet, buttered side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Flip carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Ensure the cheese is fully melted before removing from the skillet. Cover the skillet for 30 seconds if needed.
  10. Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, and cut it in half. Serve hot.

Notes

[‘Use sturdy bread like sourdough or baguette for the best crunch.’, ‘Grating your own cheese gives better flavor and a smoother melt.’, ‘Cook on medium heat to prevent burning and ensure the cheese melts properly.’, ‘Cover the skillet briefly if the cheese isn’t melting fast enough.’]
