Tender bowtie pasta smothered in a creamy cheese sauce, paired with hearty ground beef and garlic for a comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces bowtie pasta
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 12 ounces of bowtie pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add 1 finely chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until softened and translucent.
  4. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute, until fragrant.
  5. Add 1 pound of lean ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  6. Pour in 1 cup of tomato sauce and stir well. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in 1 cup of heavy cream. Mix until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  8. Gradually add 1 ½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese and ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the cheese has melted completely into the sauce.
  9. Season the sauce with 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
  10. Fold in the cooked bowtie pasta, ensuring each piece is coated in the sauce. Let the pasta simmer for 2-3 minutes, so the flavors meld together.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
